its that time when all my candy subscriptions all turn up in one week and i spend the following week eating my way through the boxes and reviewing with my taste tester son

so what did we find in my box this month,

CALBEE SWEET POTATO CRISPS,
These sweet potato chips are a cross between a wotsit corn puff and a potato crisp,quite sweet in flavour but very tasty, this had a slight salty taste and like the company said varied to what your drinking at the time, it seemed to be less salty with a hot drink,

GARI BORI SPICY GARLIC RAMEN NOODLES.

these are not instant noodles where you add water ,these are crispy noodles eaten from the pack, quite heavy on the garlic and they are very crumbly,but great for an energy hit or for snacking while doing revision or watching films, an interesting concept but a really good and big hit in japan

EBI SEBEI CHIPS,

These are shrimp or prawn flavoured and really tasty,had them before ,very fishy but the intense flavour satisfies you for longer,a crispy snack. 

PUKUPUKU TAI.

an aerated waffle biscuit filled with a dry aerated chocolate filling, these are great ,large and tasty and great with a hot drink to relax with.

these are sold with various fillings ,for instance red bean ,or cream cheese ,or black bean paste,

WATAPACHI MELON SODA.

this is a layer of cotton candy with a strong melon flavour ,quite refreshing and it has cracking popping candy mixed in, this needs to be eaten straight away as the air kills the cotton candy quick,

UMI NO GUMI ZUKAN DIY,

is a sea creature gummy kit.they have an odd texture as they are not chewy rather a dry grainy textured blob in the mouth,

DARS WHITE CHOCOLATE,

individual chunks of pure creamy white chocolate whats not to love,

pocky koma-san MILKYCREAM,

pocky biscuits are everywhere ,but these limited edition flavour white chocolate ones are only in selected places and also selected numbers made,kola-san is a dog statue that is found round japan protecting temples,
these are mild milk flavoured a little like milk malt biscuits in the UK.

PUCCA CHOCOLATES,
these are like the panda biscuits a crispy cookie outer and creamy chocolate inner,the packaging folds out and has a game printed inside great for train travel,
these taste really  nice and the box didn't take long to eat.

BLUEBERRY TARTLETS.
OK so another new flavour for us to try this time blueberry and wow these are good,
a soft crumbly pastry and a sweet sour jammy blueberry filling, these are great on there own or with a hot drink,
each are individually wrapped,for total freshness,

so this months box was sweet and savoury and i kind of liked the offerings ,the blueberry tarts were tasty and as were the rilakkuma pretzels,the sweet potato corn crisps were very tasty,the pocky was nice ,pocky is pocky,i like the pakupaku- tai and also the melon candy cotton. so this is a thumbs up box from myself and my son,and i can't wait to see what April brings,

the box is well packaged,

my box,

MILKY CREAM CHOCO,
when open these packed you are treated with a cute tray of chocolates.
when you bite into them they are filled with a caramel type cream egg filling,
these taste do good,just like UK cadburys chocolate,

FRANKFURTER AND MUSTARD FRIES,
in japan crisp fries are very popular.and come in cans and pots.
they are aerated so more like a wotsits type texture , these are frankfurter and mustard and the flavour is so good, smokey with a hint of spice from the mustard.i really like these.great while watching TV, very Moorish and tasty.

BLUEBERRY MARSHMALLOW

these are not any marshmallows these are Japanese marshmallows ,when you open the the packet the smell is a strong fruity one. these are slightly different they have a silky texture and a filled centre,the texture is slightly heavier,denser than the light airy fluffy ones you regularly eat.the centre has a deep flavourful rich blueberry goo in the centre,these are very tasty indeed.

PUCHI WHITE CHOCOLATE,

puchi products are great  and a great variety.

we received the pure white valentines packaging,these are rich white chocolate cream filling filled between sweet light wafer biscuits.

these taste sweet but not overly, and make a great treat between meals.

PUCHI FRENCH BUTTER COOKIE.

this has white and pink packaging ,the biscuits are a buttery sweet crisp texture,

the texture feels bitty and slightly grainy,the flavours and cookie tastes like a sweet biscuit.

KAKI-NO-TANE,

a classic japes snack,these are salty,food for munching while watching films or on the go,a  mix of peanuts  and cracker bits,the flavours are salty ,soy,these are found as bar snacks in japan ,the name means-kaki =persimmon(fruit) and take means seed so its like the fruits seed.

YOKAI WATCH CONSOMME,

okashi connection found the corn flavour ,but finally found a consomme flavour in the flavour test.the packing is a cute box,and inside the base was a sticker.these are crispy like wotsits and have a beefy flavour like beef monster munch crisps, they went down so quick id love another box or bigger pack.

SCORN BBQ,

confused by the name sounding like a heavy metal band.japan shorten names and tittles by linking together,so snack and corn becomes scorn.these are japans corn UK wotsits or  USA Cheetos.this isn't the full intense flavour of BBQ as we know it ,slightly tamed down it was still nice and crunchy and we enjoyed them , a great size packet as well.

PIERRE -OJISANS BUTTER CREAM ROLLCAKE,

we have had these in a previous box so this time we got a butter cream flavour,these are soft and creamy ,but not overly sweet.not a rich taste its a light airy snack to eat anytime of the day.the cake is more doughy than previous flavours, and the butter cream is a great roll to try out.

APPLE PUNCH TABLET,

these are packet in foils  just like medicine tablets are, you simply pop one out and eat,they are slightly chewy and taste of a gentle apple not full out there rammed packed apple taste and scent,let it melt a little on the tongue first before biting into it,

DISNEY POPCAN,

what is a popcan= well its a lollipop candy,  the varieties are huge strawberry and peach.blue soda,grape and muscat,mixed fruits ,cola,mystery flavour,the flavours are a very delicate hint rather than over powering,things from japan,china,Korea and elsewhere in Asia seem to tone down flavours and scents where as else where in the world we like them stronger and bolder, i like the variety and the flavours being a little subtle sometimes,

i got mystery flavours, its creamy but then sharp,it tastes a lot like butter beer.

i really liked  all the products in this box this month,it was an interesting  box full of savoury and sweet  and we liked everything in it, well worth the money  and a great monthly subscription to receive each month. its always great to wait for mystery boxes,

Anpanman Chocolate Koro-Koro Bal

these are like American candy called whoppers,, 

a thin crispy milk chocolate coating with crispy middle,

an easy dispenser container gives you just the right amount.designed with anpanman.

Lumberjack’s Chocolate Stumps

these are cute little treats in a box, a bit like the meiji's mushroom chocolate biscuits ,lumberjacks are tastier and richer chocolate, with a cookie filling, and taste great ,these don't last long though.

Pierre-Ojisan’s Strawberry Rollcake

a soft sweet sticky cake that is smooth but equally as rich.with its unique strawberry flavouring,these are a bit like  chocolate rolls we get in the UK, 

great with tea or coffee.the word ojisan means older gentleman,also uncle, either way he is a cute old man .

Sakeru Muscat Gumi

so this is sakeru gum.the word gumi means to be taken as a loose term ,this is not chewy candy rather taffy type chew texture.the flavour is muscat grape and when eaten slowly the flavour takes time to come out.

the word sakeru means split or tear,packaged in sheets you tear off in string form string by string.the bags also lasts longer this way.

Lotte Choco Pie

lotte choco pie are a classic treat,2 chocolate flat cakes with a cream filling then covered in chocolate ,great with a glass of milk or hot coffee,these are a grown up oreo .

Lotte Custard Cake

lotte custard pie, are like American twinkles  but a softer cake ,and this time a custard filling,great for snacking on,

Umaibo Teriyaki Burger

OK, this is rather different in that its a spicy little number,these are jumbo  corn puff sticks with a teriaki burger flavour,its flaky but hard and crunchy. but overall very tasty, with a drink,

Variety Christmas Pack

what a great selection pack to include for us all,

various flavour and colour combos,we have fried mocha sembei,chocolate marshmallows,mini umaibo in corn syrup flavours and chocolate flavours.and a random ramune flavour. a great Xmas tree treat ,

Abetsuko Fruit Ramune

ramune is the staple candy of every childhood kid in japan,these are little candies dissolve in the mouth and are various flavours grape,lemon,strawberry,melon,orange. each packet has a different animal on it.

Natsukashi Curry Sembei

natsukashi means nostalgic ,so i guess this packet of goodies means your remember the good times.

if you like spicy strong flavours it may not be for you, its a refined flavour.

want a snack but don't want to be feeling stuffed afterwards this maybe for you.

the colours are supposed to mean they are different flavoured curries but sadly you can't tell any variation.

Fuusen Bubble Gum

so the word fuusen means balloon.this is a bubble gum for blowing awesome bubbles.

the dispenser makes it great for carrying around , and although the flavour does not last long the bubbles can go huge.

this was my extra item this month, 
to be honest my teenage son stole it before i could get my hands on it.
but it was tasty candy cotton by the sounds of it.

my Christmas December box add on.
where to start , 
it was huge and jam packed with tasty treats,
kitkats,chocolate, ramune candy, snack kits,candy disks and chocolate ,
i really loved this add on ,so it was like getting 2 boxes  this month 

so this box and the add on was totally worth the money,i was upset it never arrived before Christmas but it arrived 2 days after and you know what once opened I'm happy it arrived in December, totally loved all the products  and  id recommend the  subscription to anyone looking for a candy box,

MY BOX 

UN BOXED 

FRIED POTATO STICKS,
from Meiji these are fried potato fries .they are crunchy but tasty for sure . great for sharing.

KARAMUCHO,
the same as above but with a slightly spic flavouring ,in western terms not overly hot spicy just a gentle warmth.
crispy and tasty these are great mixed together in a bowl with the plain box.

CABBAGE TATOU,
cabbage is not the flavour don't panic, it refers to the shape ,these are really tasty puffy snacks and taste a lot like a stronger Worcester sauce flavour, the mascot is the famous tatou.

SAKUSAKU PANDA CHOCOLATE CAKE,
individually wrapped scrumy, these are chocolate creamy centres wrapped with marshmallow then sandwiched between 2 chocolate cookies ,chocolate smokes eat your heart out and yes mini panda shaped cookies.

ANPANMAN GUMI,
so the gumi sweets are stuck onto paper so don't waste time peeling the gummy off watt he whole thing.we got a pack of apple and a pack of grape flavour ,the apple ones are a delicate flavour think watered down apple juice ,where as the grape flavour is so good, .

CREAM SODA CANDIES,
hard candy with a traditional Japanese feel about it, cream soda in japan is usually watermelon soda with vanilla ice-cream.these candies have a soft chewy interior, but don't eat them all at once save some for later.

OTTOTTO CONSOME CRACKERS.
these are little crispy crackers which are shaped as assorted animals.and they taste of consume.

DORAEMON FLUFFY CHOCO SANDWICH.
doraemon is a robot cat ,and has been around for over 40 years in the anime and manga world, he can be found all over japan.
this treat is supposed to look like monaka, ,the treat is a crispy flaky wafer with a fluffy chocolate filling,tasty,crispy and sweet.but fun.

WATA-PACHI GRAPE 
this is the 3rd flavour featured in these boxes over the months.this is grape flavoured, it also incorporates  sour pop rocks,and god they are sour.a good flavour kick,

TSUBU- TSUBU FRUIT SOFT CANDY.
a jelly bean candy with star burst flavours, these are more intense flavours to be honest though.grape ,lemon,green apple,pineapple,peach wow these brighten a damp wet day up in the UK.

ADD ON PRODUCTS. 

KIT KAT.pumpkin pudding.
i love all the different types of kitkat flavours and these are no different.
pumpkin pudding is a great savoury sweet flavour, what makes these a little different is that you chill them down the put on a tray in the oven and brûlée them up, and taste so good ,creamy and melty pumpkin pie.

DIY KIT
panda bento set ,
i got this to send to someone as a Xmas gift. as her panda is her name.
looks cool i have tried these sets and are such fun, so I'm sure she will enjoy it.

so did i like my first OKASHI CONNECTION box . well hell yeah.
will i continue the subscription ,hell yeah. 
were the products enjoyable .      yes .
was it value for money,             yes.
i loved the idea of the add on option for the box a nice surprise for the month, 
the amount of candy and snacks compared to other subscriptions is huge, 
shipping was quick and payment by paypal is so quick and easy.
a friend kept spamming my blog comments to try this box out and i was gutted when i got greeted on signing up with the waiting list ,but in a week i was in and I'm in for good. epic box to start my okashi subscription with.
