its that time when all my candy subscriptions all turn up in one week and i spend the following week eating my way through the boxes and reviewing with my taste tester son

               OKASHI CONNECTION.
this is a Japanese candy and snack subscription box that comes out every month and is shipped world wide for $22.00 .postage is included in the price,
shipped direct from Tokyo,it takes about 2 weeks to get to the UK.
once opened you go onto the members blog and there you will find out about all the products in the box.
the box contains about a pound or 450g weight of candy and snacks which focus on seasonal items rather than weird filler items.
OK so on opening the box i knew this subscription was going to be a keeper.

also this month i was invited to buy the add on ,these you go to a link and then you can purchase as many of the items  as you want, i passed this month as it was chocolate,

OYATSU KIDS PACK,

this is a kids grab bag,with snack bags inside,

VEGGIE TABERU CHIPS,

heart shaped corn crisps,these are soft with a little crunch,.they are a little salty but the vegetable flavour comes through fine.

CHOCO SHIMI-CORN SEA ANIMAL CRACKERS.

these are limited chocolate flavoured crackers, they are a quite strong flavour with a crispy texture.

DISNEY ELISE BLUEBERRY AND YOGURT,

bourbon regularly team up with Disney and this has Elise all over it,

these wafers are so nice the blueberry mix is just right and not too sickly,

POCKY PEANUT,

a limited edition to japan only,this box is bright yellow and has snoopy on it, 

that can only mean one thing surely ,PEANUT flavour, 

the filling is not as strong and dense as peanut butter so the description of a sweeter peanut cream is spot on,

the coating is sweet and not a dry texture in the mouth, i like these.

BIN RAMUNE,

so an ice cream wafer cone in japan is called a bin,

you poke the straw into the bottom of the bottle wafer, then suck up the ramune sherbet powder ,be careful you don't suck to quick or you may cough like the cinnamon challenge,

its a nice sherbet, and who doesn't like crisp ice-cream wafers.

PEAR SHOKORANTAN,

love these , i have had loads in other sub boxes and I'm not bored of them,

they are like a strong french crispy crunchy Florentines biscuit and fresh strong pears.these are individually wrapped for freshness but to be honest they never last long.

GREEN TEA WAFER BAR,

this bar has a green tea chocolate covering over a crispy wafer ,

they come across as a kind of kitkat wafer,

STRAWBERRY WAFER BAR.

the same as the green tea one with a nice gentle strawberry taste,

LEMON SOUR PAPER,
this long sugary and sour sweet.
but it wasn't as sour as some American gummy sweets , it was refreshing  and quickly eaten,

a good box ,a great choice of products again and all eaten and liked , worth buying each month, always consistent in value and weight,

today is the oyatsu box .

so its that time of month when our candy  subscriptions start hitting home, so what is oyatsu box all about,
the oyatsu box is based in japan  and started up last year after the staff at the oyatsu cafe decided to it was time to send some fun to the rest of the world.

oyatsu box brings to us all kinds of sweet and savoury foods ,sweets and snacks, from all over japan  just so we can taste and try out what the other side of the world are finding great to eat.

this month we had a little spoiler in that we was informed due to subscribers increasing they could afford a new menu card ,now now its in my hand i will say this is good as i can keep this and file ,if i like something i can or get in another box i can read up what it is or order more online.

THIS MONTHS SNACKAGE,

MIKES BUTTER SOY POPCORN,

JAPANS latest food craze has landed and now we get weird flavours of popcorn ,I'm not sure on the green tea flavour ,this is a buttery soy flavour,

these are really salty but kind of a rich flavour as the buttery texture 

i think i could get use to this this flavour ,

MEIJI AQUA  GUMMY 

these are soft sea creatures ,they are the softest gummies,they have a cola and fruit flavours, you simply pop them out of the mould they are set in,and enjoy, 

this pack has a limited edition card,

PUCCHITO KUDAMONO MIRACLE,

these are fruit snacks that are clearly made by awesome people ,

they peel like you would a real fruit,these are oranges and peaches.

they are the same type of thing as fruit winders.

i liked these they were kind of refreshing,

YOKAI WATCH RAMEN BITES,

dried noodles that are seriously crunchy and tasty.snack like you do with crisps these are tasty,and great for on the go,

PEANUT POCKY,
this is a Japanese limited edition.
for 2015 pocky have gone peanut crazy and if you go with a peanut theme you need to have the pulling power of peanuts or snoopy as he is known, the bright yellow packaging stands out alone,the sticks are not quite a peanut butter texture but they are a smooth peanut covering that is slightly sweet and very nice on there own or with a hot drink,

PUCCHO RAMUNE AND MELON SODA,
these gummy sweets have there own unique container and it has a pop up toy in the lid ,it is rather cool,ramune is a soda drink in japan and these sweets have a melon flavour to them ,

GUMMY SUSHI KIT,
I've had this kit before you build your own little sushi rolls ,with the gummy sweets and the flavours are white peach rice  ,orange,mango flavoured fish,

COFFEE CHOCO ALMOND,
these yummy snacks are great to nibble on, these are almonds with a coffee flavoured chocolate shell,

TSUNAGETE SODA 
this is an odd one you basically make a chain as long as you can from the gummy sweets they are grape flavoured ramune,.

HI CHEW  SUPPAICHU,
sour lemon chews with sharp sour lemon pieces inside ,these didn't last long ,i love hi chew sweets,the best sweets,

this month we didn't get a gashapon collectors toy ,but we got an exclusive new item, inflatable pokeball. this is greatly received in the house over here, a great collectable,
we got number 3 thank you for making the boy happy,

i really liked the box this month again,each month they are consistent in value and quality and volume of products, fast shipping and i would recommend to buy for  that something different,

BIG BABYSTAR YAKISOBA BITES,

these are crispy dried and deep fried noodles, very crunchy these are a sweet noodle,the bag is triple sized, and the noodles were quite tasty,

PUCHITTO KUDAMONO GRAPE,
these are fruit candy from Gracie and makers of popin cooking,puchitto means squashy these candies are rather chewy and bendy,shaped as a bunch of grapes.

POKEMON VEGETABLE  CRACKERS.
the crackers are vegetable flavoured with over 6 vegetables in, each cracker also has  a different Pokemon character on it,
with an exclusive sticker,

YOKAI WATCH POP CANDY ,RAMUNE FLAVOURED .
yokai watch is so popular in japan at present its everywhere,
these candies taste of traditional Japanese ramune soda.

MORINAGA CHOCO BALLS,STRAWBERRY,
crunchy biscuit with a smooth strawberry chocolate coating, these are quite sickly ,so only one or two eaten,
always in a cute box with a dispenser built in, these sweets have been popular for over a decade in japan,

GASHAPON.

authentic Japanese toys, these are the real thing, there are so many machines found all over japan there are even gashapon stores now filled with them, 

this month we have shrimp girl, these are limited edition and some are fetching quite a bit of money, 

i really like these capsule toys in the box now ,as its always different,either brand or characters, or theme,

HI-CHEW  CREAMY YOGURT 
this is a creamy milky yogurt flavour, slight sourness to it but these chews are really tasty and rich.
this is a limited edition only available every few years for a few weeks,

DIY  CANDY KIT SWEET APPLES, 
mini candy apples , you stab the soft chewy apple candy with the stick mix it in the caramel syrup and then coat in the sugar coating,
these are so yummy and addictive they don't last long,all of 5 minutes.

POCKY MATCHA,
this is another product only released for a number of weeks each year, the green matcha tea flavour is an acquired taste,

CAPLICO PANDA,
Overtime we get one of these in a sub box they are different,
this one has white chocolate and crunchy cookie bites inside,
the icecream wafer is the standard waffle biscuit,
this are fun to eat i find they are way to much so my son eats 3/4 of it, 
but a fun and good product.

GANKO AGE.
these are potato fries like we get in the UK chip sticks, these are long hard and really crunchy.these are naturally salted and a great pack so can be eaten anytime.

so the oyatsu box is a great  monthly box,we got a load of special limited editions this month,i still like this box a lot and it slightly differs from others,so i can't wait to see what April brings to us,

value for money is great again and not so easy to grab these snacks in the UK especially if you don't live near a city to go to the Asian supermarkets.

so what did we find in my box this month,

CALBEE SWEET POTATO CRISPS,
These sweet potato chips are a cross between a wotsit corn puff and a potato crisp,quite sweet in flavour but very tasty, this had a slight salty taste and like the company said varied to what your drinking at the time, it seemed to be less salty with a hot drink,

GARI BORI SPICY GARLIC RAMEN NOODLES.

these are not instant noodles where you add water ,these are crispy noodles eaten from the pack, quite heavy on the garlic and they are very crumbly,but great for an energy hit or for snacking while doing revision or watching films, an interesting concept but a really good and big hit in japan

EBI SEBEI CHIPS,

These are shrimp or prawn flavoured and really tasty,had them before ,very fishy but the intense flavour satisfies you for longer,a crispy snack. 

PUKUPUKU TAI.

an aerated waffle biscuit filled with a dry aerated chocolate filling, these are great ,large and tasty and great with a hot drink to relax with.

these are sold with various fillings ,for instance red bean ,or cream cheese ,or black bean paste,

WATAPACHI MELON SODA.

this is a layer of cotton candy with a strong melon flavour ,quite refreshing and it has cracking popping candy mixed in, this needs to be eaten straight away as the air kills the cotton candy quick,

UMI NO GUMI ZUKAN DIY,

is a sea creature gummy kit.they have an odd texture as they are not chewy rather a dry grainy textured blob in the mouth,

DARS WHITE CHOCOLATE,

individual chunks of pure creamy white chocolate whats not to love,

pocky koma-san MILKYCREAM,

pocky biscuits are everywhere ,but these limited edition flavour white chocolate ones are only in selected places and also selected numbers made,kola-san is a dog statue that is found round japan protecting temples,
these are mild milk flavoured a little like milk malt biscuits in the UK.

PUCCA CHOCOLATES,
these are like the panda biscuits a crispy cookie outer and creamy chocolate inner,the packaging folds out and has a game printed inside great for train travel,
these taste really  nice and the box didn't take long to eat.

BLUEBERRY TARTLETS.
OK so another new flavour for us to try this time blueberry and wow these are good,
a soft crumbly pastry and a sweet sour jammy blueberry filling, these are great on there own or with a hot drink,
each are individually wrapped,for total freshness,

so this months box was sweet and savoury and i kind of liked the offerings ,the blueberry tarts were tasty and as were the rilakkuma pretzels,the sweet potato corn crisps were very tasty,the pocky was nice ,pocky is pocky,i like the pakupaku- tai and also the melon candy cotton. so this is a thumbs up box from myself and my son,and i can't wait to see what April brings,
